Plan details (Indie) - storage and # of non-enhanced inboxes

  1. Storage. When the account reaches the maximum number of email messages. This article references “recycle” - in plain English, that just means the old mails get deleted, correct?
  2. Number of email addresses. The enhanced email addresses can only be up to a set number (e.g. 50 for Indie plan), but the inboxes of already created email addresses (non-enhanced) can continue to receive email via web, correct?

Hello ZDP-DCI-DCJ,

  1. Storage: Yes, in plain English “recycle” means delete.
  2. Number of email addresses: Many of our customers do make use of enhanced email addresses. However, I find that Zero-Setup Custom Subdomains work best for most customers. With the indie plan you get one custom domain. You can send to any address in that domain and the message will be received. You do not need to pre-create or reserve any of the addresses. I would recommend only using enhanced addresses if you have a need to forward the message to slack, webhook, or another mailsac address.

Let me know if I can provide any additional clarification.

Hi - thank you so much for the reply. Re: #2, we’ll consider your suggestion in the future for sure, but the current situation is that we have many email addresses (non-enhanced) that exist already and need to continue to receive emails. This is primarily used for the UAT, so just receiving the new email messages in its inbox is all we need (no need for slack, forward, etc).

So it would be great if you can simply confirm my original question #2 - we will continue to be able to receive messages (in the web-based inbox) for non-enhanced email addresses and there’s no limitations as to the number of these non-enhanced email addresses, correct?

Thanks!

On the indie-plan you get 50 enhanced addresses. If you are sending to non-enhanced addresses you will likely encounter throttling on those messages. This is especially true if you are sending from a shared sender like Mailgun or AWS SES. Unless you are sending to a private custom domain or an enhanced address we have no way of differentiating your mail versus a free user of mailsac.

I would recommend you configure your existing addresses you are using as enhanced addresses and start migrating to the use of a custom private domain.
